Urban Bat Project NYC is a personal project of mine (more about this here) that I was able to start with a small amount of extra grant and fellowship money cobbled together from other projects. It does not cost a lot of money to maintain and I am not here to ask you for major donations. I am but a humble scientist and grad student, not a non-profit. The stickers, which are currently the bread and butter of the campaign, do be getting pricey tho.
If you like what I'm doing here, learned a thing or two about bats, or enjoyed hanging out with me on a bat walk, consider sending $5 my way. It will 100% go to printing more stickers. I have so many bat facts to beautify the city with. You can donate via my ko-fi page:

Up until recently, I would never have turned to the general public for research funding. It is unfortunately the case, however, that the lab I am a member of is one of the many currently impacted by the cancellation and withholding of federal grants. Urban Bat Project NYC is itself an effort to pursue an alternative, more inclusive approach to conservation and research that does not rely on federal funding.
